Nunu Fine Art Salon: Ana Teresa Barboza’s In a State of Latency

Join CAMS, Meet Me at the Museum, and the Mexican Student Association at Nunu Fine Art New York as they present In a State of Latency, solo exhibition by Peruvian multimedia artist Ana Teresa Barboza. The artist’s process includes utilising traditional techniques and native plant life whilst collaborating with local artisans. The resulting textiles and ceramic sculptures explore the interplay between natural environments and local communities.

In a State of Latency investigates the relationship between the native plants and the artist’s experience in the dry forest of northern Peru with the region’s cyclical climatic oscillations: all life there depends on short regenerative rainy periods punctuating long dry seasons.
